BIO

Leslie J. Frye was born in Alton, IL and was raised in Florissant,MO., a suburb of St. Louis.  She grew up in a family of accomplished singers and musicians.  Her father, David Frye, was a member of the 1970’s soul group The Montclairs, featuring jazz artist, Phil Perry. Leslie’s artistic endeavors lead her to enjoy a 4 year stint as an NFL cheerleader (St. Louis Football Cardinals) as well as a brief recording career.  Leslie speaks both Spanish and French and was eventually hired by a major airline where she traveled the world as an international flight attendant.

Being based out of New York, she longed to pursue an acting career but her life style was too

unconventional.  However, after sustaining an injury on the job, (something she calls a divine intervention), she spent months recuperating while attending acting classes.  Amazingly, within a 6 month period, she had obtained an agent and started booking commercials for companies such as, The Food Network, Comcast Cable; Nickelodeon, The Lifetime Network and Sports Illustrated just to name a few.  Later she was fortunate enough to book a supporting role in the international cult film favorite, Camp, directed by Todd Graff (Band Slam, Joyful Noise) This lead her to other roles on Law and Order-SVU, All My Children and a recurring stint as a nurse on One Life to Live.  As the Facilitator for the MoriahCity Players at Mount Moriah AME Church, she wrote and directed many of their most successful outreach plays such as; “Christmas at the House of Joy”, “I Won’t Let Go Til’ You Bless Me- A Christmas Homecoming”, “Remember Me”, “Waiting for Hope”, “The Last Word” and lastly, “The Truth About Christmas” which won the Creative Arts Team the African American Heritage award.  Recently, Leslie was cast in the indie film TARAB the Movie, where she will take on the role of Zahra, the belly dance instructor.

Leslie is a student of Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Classical Indian dance and Raks Sharki (bellydance).  She's an avid video gamer as well as, Sci-Fi and Horror Film fan.  Additionally, she hosts and creates content for several LIVE stream shows on YouTube, Facebook and Twitch.  She is currently working on a film about her 18 year friendship with Danish blonde bombshell actress, Greta Thyssen- known for being the last femme- fatale to work with the Three Stooges and her roles in classic B Sci-Fi films, such as- "Terror is Man" and "Journey to the 7th Planet".

Leslie is of African, European and Indigenous (Mississippi Choctaw/ Catawba/Cherokee) heritage.
